Stephen Kenny is in his second spell in charge of Derry City
Derry City boss Stephen Kenny is believed to have rejected an approach from Eircom League rivals Cork City to take over as manager.
Kenny has apparently refused to speak to the Cork outfit saying that he is committed to his job at the Brandywell.
It is the second time in a month that Kenny has been approach by another Eircom League side.
In November, it was reported that the 37-year-old Dubliner was the target for Shamrock Rovers.
At the time Kenny was slightly unhappy with cuts to the playing budget at Derry but it prompted a reproach from club chairman Pat McDaid who said that he was absolutely confident that Stephen will be at Brandywell here next season.
"He appreciates and understands why the cuts are needed. The club is embedded in the community and Stephen is passionate about what it is doing," said McDaid.
Cork City sacked former manager Alan Mathews would no longer remain as manager, citing financial constraints as the primary reason for his leaving.
Over 15 applications were received for the vacant post at Turner's Cross.
