Defender Gareth McKeown rescued a draw for Crusaders with a wonder strike in the 87th minute of the north Belfast derby at Solitude.
McKeown volleyed in a sensational equaliser from 30 yards just as Cliftonville looked set for victory.
After a dull first half, Mark Holland had given the Reds the lead by drilling a 20-yard shot past Crusaders keeper Chris Keenan in the 61st minute.
The result took Cliftonville up from eighth to sixth in the table.
Crusaders manager Stephen Baxter said: "Gareth has the ability to take the ball in his stride and strike it.
"He has done it a couple of times with free-kicks but today was a bit special, finding the top corner with an absolute wonder strike.
"But it was no more than we deserved because I thought we gave a tremendous account of ourselves and probably should have won the game."
