Gary Muir celebrates after scoring in the New Grosvenor win
Gary Muir struck a first-half treble as the Whites crushed Glenavon at New Grosvenor on Saturday.
Muir's half-volley after four minutes set Distillery on their way and Curtis Allen fired in the second before Conor Walsh headed in for Glenavon.
Muir scored with a deflected shot and Hugh Dickson's header made it 3-2 before Muir curled the ball into the net to complete his hat-trick.
Allen added the fifth and Darren Armour converted a last minute penalty.
Dickson had a header cleared off the line early in the second half and the Lurgan Blues were still in the game until Allen sealed his brace with three minutes left.
The late spot-kick was awarded after Mark Cooling was fouled by Jay Magee.
The Whites remain in fourth place although they are now just a point behind Crusaders while Glenavon stay second from bottom.
