Champions Linfield lost further ground on title rivals Glentoran after being held to a draw at home by Bangor.
David Jeffrey's Blues stay in second place but are now seven points behind the Glens with a game in hand.
Bangor went close to grabbing the lead in the 41st minute when Noel Anderson's free header clipped the top of the bar.
And the Seasiders, trounced 5-0 by Linfield in September, could have won it late on but home keeper Alan Mannus dived to save from Anderson.
Linfield struggled for chances but did see a Jamie Mulgrew shot scrambled away by Andrew Plummer in the first half.
Bangor midfielder Darren Lockhart said they felt they had missed out on a great chance to win at Windsor Park.
"We are all gutted, believe it or not," said Lockhart.
"It looks like a good result but we were all disappointed when we came off.
"We had three or four really good chances which we did not take."
