Timmy Adamson scored two of Dungannon's goals at Ballymena
Dungannon Swifts secured their first league win of the season to leave Ballymena with one point out of nine.
Timmy Adamson headed a 12th-minute opener and Marc McCann lobbed over home keeper Alan Blayney after Rodney McAree had flicked the ball over the defence.
The Swifts made it three in the 48th minute when Blayney failed to collect a Jamie Tomelty cross and Adamson took advantage to get his second goal.
Transfer target Kevin Kelbie was on the United bench.
Champions Linfield are reported to be on the verge of clinching a deal to bring the Scottish striker to Windsor Park.
