Three second-half goals earned Derry City a comfortable victory over Cobh Ramblers in Saturday's Eircom Premier League clash at St Colman's Park.

Former Dungannon player Niall McGinn put Derry into the lead on 67 minutes and Gareth McGlynn doubled the Candystripes' advantage on 81 minutes.

Sammy Morrow completed the scoring with an injury-time strike for Derry.

Derry remain fourth in the table despite their win over the Eircom Premier League's bottom club.

Stephen Kenny's are 12 points behind leaders Bohemians, who also have a game in hand.

The result moves Derry to within two points of third-place Cork City.

Second-place St Patrick's Athletic are five points ahead of Derry and the Dubliners also have a game in hand on the Candystripes.
