Ryan Berry celebrates after scoring against Hearts at the Oval

Glentoran edged out Hearts 6-5 in a penalty shoot-out after a 1-1 draw in Monday's Umbro Cup game at the Oval.

Saulius Mikoliunas put the SPL side ahead but Ryan Berry levelled before James Taylor's save from Craig Sives secured the shoot-out win.

The result was not the priority for Glens boss Alan McDonald ahead of Thursday's Uefa Cup qualifying round game against SK Liepajas Metalurgs.

"First and foremost we didn't pick up any injuries, which is great," he said.
