Glentoran's planned friendly against a Celtic XI at the Oval on 23 July has been postponed, BBC Sport understands.
The Scottish champions are now likely to fulfil a prior arrangement to play Donegal Celtic at Suffolk Road on the same date.
The Glens had been in talks with the Glasgow giants and they were confident the fixture would go ahead.
But while Celtic will be in Belfast, they will be playing in the west side of the city instead of the east.
It will be Celtic's first game in Belfast since they played Cliftonville at Solitude in 1984.
