Portadown grabbed maximum points thanks to striker Gary Liggett's 92nd minute winner at Shamrock Park. Liggett had an early effort cleared off the line by Ciaran Gargin before scoring the opener after 19 minutes.
Paul McVeigh equalised after connecting with a James Lavery cross three minutes later but Liggett's late strike saw off the battling Suffolk Road outfit.
The victory consolidates Portadown's fifth position in the league table while Donegal Celtic lie 12th.
