Richard Clarke set Newry on the road to victory when he cut in from the left and shot low past Stuart Addis after 41 minutes of this Showgrounds clash. Sean Friars made it 2-0 on 73 after Addis palmed out a Paul Prigent effort and Emmett Friars headed in from Sean Friars' right-wing free-kick after 75.
Shane Coney had an early Armagh chance and Prigent twice went close for Newry.
After the break Davy Hawthorne was off target for Armagh and Sean Friars curled a free-kick wide at 1-0.
