Jim Roddy has announced that he is to step down from his role as chief executive of Derry City. Roddy, who will also give up his director's role, takes his decision a fortnight after chairman Hugh McDaid revealed that he would stand down.
However like McDaid, Roddy will will stay on the board of Brandywell Properties which was set up to oversee the redevelopment of Derry's ground.
Roddy said that he was taking his decision for "personal reasons".
"I just think that the time is right for me personally and for the club as well," said Roddy, who has had a 14-year association with the Eircom League club.
"There are a lot of good people working around the club and I believe it has a vibrant future.
"But it's a massive wrench. It's been a part of my life. Everything in our family has been Derry City over the last 14 years."
Roddy insisted that there was "no fallout" at the club.
"The guys have asked me to stay on with Brandywell Properties which I'm very happy to do.
"We had some great days, some difficult days and some very worrying days.
"The night we played Finn Harps in the Brandywell, we had to wait for that Liam Coyle goal to keep up in the Premier Division which meant a lot to people in the city."
Roddy and McDaid will officially stand down from their positions at the club's Annual General Meeting on 26 November and a number of other boardroom changes may happen as well.
