Emmett Friars scored the only goal at Coleraine Showgrounds to lift Newry City up to third place in the league. Coleraine suffered a setback in the 28th minute when Jody Tolan was shown a red card after going in with his elbow when challenging Paddy McLaughlin.
The 10 men held out until the 62nd minute when Lee Feeney's cross was missed by Newry man Stephen Garrett before Friars netted the winner.
Coleraine are ninth in the table with eight points from six fixtures.
It was Newry's third win in a row in the Premier League.
