Tim Mouncey scored twice in Linfield's 3-1 win at Armagh |
Champions Linfield moved to the top of the Carnegie Premier League table after this victory at Holm Park. Tim Mouncey scored the first two with headers in the 12th and 19th minutes but David Hawthorne pulled one back with a shot before half-time.
Peter Thompson made it 3-1 to the Blues on 49 minutes with a looping header from a Stephen Douglas cross.
Mouncey had a chance to net a hat-trick in the 73rd minute but his penalty was saved by Stuart Addis.
The spot-kick was awarded when Addis brought down Thompson but the City keeper made amends by saving Mouncey's effort.
Linfield, who started the day in third place, are level with Glentoran on points and goal difference, but are top because they have scored more goals.
Cliftonville are also on a points total of 10 after their 1-0 at Ballymena United.
