 Pat McCourt's penalty proved to be in vain for Derry City |
Derry suffered their fourth straight defeat after this Eircom Premier Division game at the RSC which ended with both teams reduced to 10 men. United striker Vinny Sullivan missed a penalty but Derry winger Pat McCourt made no mistake from the spot as he gave the visitors a 29th minute lead.
Waterford struck twice just after the break through Sullivan and John Kiely.
Derry's Killian Brennan was red-carded on the hour while Alan Mulcahy was dismissed in the final minute.
