Paul McVeigh's second-half goal earned DC the points |
Paul McVeigh's second-half goal was enough to earn Donegal Celtic victory in Saturday's low-key Carnegie League opener at Limavady. McVeigh should have put Limavady ahead in the first half but he missed an absolute sitter after rounding home goalkeeper Glenn Miller on 34 minutes.
However, McVeigh made amends for his miss when he squeezed home Paul McDonald's cross on 57 minutes.
Matt Boyd went close for Limavady when he headed into the side netting.
