 Francis Murphy will not play in the Intertoto game in Latvia |
New signing Francis Murphy has ruled himself out of Cliftonville's Intertoto Cup second leg match against FC Dinaburg because of a fear of flying. The former Lisburn Distillery winger will be available to make hss Reds debut in the first leg at Belfast's Windsor Park on 23 June.
But Murphy will not be travelling with his new Cliftonville team-mates for the return match in Latvia a week later.
Murphy also missed a Distillery game in Lithunia two years ago.
Cliftonville manager Eddie Patterson said the player had made him aware of the situation before signing for the Solitude club.
