Glentoran claimed second place in the Premier League and secured a Uefa Cup spot despite losing 2-0 to Portadown at Shamrock Park at Saturday. Gary Liggett took advantage of poor defending to fire home the opener in the first minute and then repeated the dose a minute later to make it 2-0. The Glens looked lethargic throughout and never rose above the mediocre. The win completed a league double for the Ports who also defeated Glentoran at the Oval in December.
