Derry City bowed out of the Setanta Cup when they lost 2-1 to Drogheda at United Park in Group One on Tuesday. Ruaidhri Higgins, Greg O'Halloran, Mark Farren and Peter Hutton had first-half chances before Kevin Deery drilled the ball home from 20 yards on 45 minutes.
Eamon Zayed was wide with a glancing header in the opening period and also volleyed wide after the interval.
Tony Grant levelled after Pat Jennings spilled after 68 and Zayed found the net in the last minute to secure a win.
Higgins' early half-volley was saved by the goalkeeper and O'Halloran's effort from the rebound was deflected wide.
Farren was wide with a lob and Hutton with a header before Deery broke the deadlock after meeting a corner.
Drogheda travel to face St Patrick's Athletic in the first semi-final on Monday 23 April.
