Lee Patrick headed the first goal for Ballymena United
Portadown suffered defeat for the first time in 17 Carnegie Premier League matches as goals from Lee Patrick and Paul Brown gave Ballymena victory.

Former Limavady skipper Patrick headed in from a Kevin Kelbie cross for the first goal after 71 minutes.

The second came in the 88th minute and again Scotsman Kelbie was the supplier as his corner was headed in by Brown.

Kevin Braniff, Gary McCutcheon and Henry McStay were off target for the Ports who slip to third in the table.
