Glenn Ferguson and Jamie Mulgrew celebrate the opening goal |
A 76th minute header from substitute Timmy Adamson earned Linfield a vital 3-2 win over Crusaders at Seaview. Jamie Mulgrew headed in from a Paul McAreavey cross on four minutes and Glenn Ferguson drilled a left foot shot into the corner after 55 minutes.
Anto Crawford smashed the ball into the net on 66 minutes and two minutes later sub Davy Larmour headed in Stephen Shaw's corner to level the game at 2-2.
Adamson nodded in from five yards out and Larmour had a late shot deflected.
After Mulgrew broke the deadlock. Aidan O'Kane went close, Mulgrew had an effort cleared off the line by Stephen McBride and Ferguson's free-kick from 25 yards hit the woodwork and ran across the goalline.
The striker netted his 17th goal of the season after the break to set up the exciting second half.
