Police were called to Stangmore Park early on Tuesday morning |
The Stangmore Park pitch of Carnegie Irish Premier League club Dungannon Swifts has been damaged by vandals. Police were called to the ground shortly before 0400 GMT on Tuesday after getting reports of the vandalism.
Eight crates of drinks bottles had been removed from the rear of the club's premises and about half of the broken bottles were strewn all over the pitch.
Wednesday's Bob Radcliffe Cup semi-final between Coagh United and Annagh has had to be postponed.
Dungannon officials now face a race against time to get the pitch ready for Saturday's Irish League game against Portadown.
Glass was embedded in the ground at the centre circle and the goalmouths.
