Linfield were held to a scoreless draw for the second week running as they failed to overcome the challenge of Dungannon Swifts at Windsor Park. Thomas Stewart shaved an upright with a first-chance effort for Linfield who also went close early on through Glenn Ferguson and Peter Thompson.
In the second half Dungannon's Mark McAllister shot across the face of goal from a David Scullion pass.
Linfield's Timmy Adamson was off target as he tried to upset his old club.
But Dungannon were well worthy of a share of the spoils.
The only comfort for Linfield was that leaders Glentoran also dropped two home points against Donegal Celtic.
David Jeffrey's men are still five points behind their cross-city rivals.
