Andy Waterworth came off the bench to earn Distillery a share of the points. The best chance of a disappointing first half saw Kris Morrow slice a shot wide of the target for the Crues.
In the second half Stephen Shaw went close before beating goalkeeper Philip Matthews at his near post direct from a free-kick on 58 minutes to make it 1-0.
Substitute Waterworth netted the equaliser after 84 minutes, the former Ards striker meeting a cross from central defender Gareth McKeown.
