Michael Halliday scored Glentoran's second goal against Newry City

Paul Millar's side took the lead on 32 minutes through a Paddy McLaughlin own goal after Michael Halliday headed the ball across the danger zone.

Glentoran went two up four minutes before half-time when Michael Halliday scored for the second week running.

Newry tried to hit back but went further behind when Gary Hamilton headed in from Kyle Neill's free.

It was a disappointing return to the Oval for former Glens boss Roy Coyle.

His Newry side had their chances but failed to convert.
