Jeffrey 'ecstatic' despite exit
Blues boss David Jeffrey
Blues boss David Jeffrey praised his players after the second leg
Linfield manager David Jeffrey was delighted with his team's display in the 2-2 draw with Gorcia in the Champions League qualifying round tie.

Wednesday night's second leg result in Slovenia was not enough for the Blues as they went out 5-3 on aggregate.

"It would not be an understatement to say I feel absolutely ecstatic," Jeffrey told BBC Sport.

"Our football was first rate and we should have won, and that compliment was paid by their manager."

He added: "We were disapppointed to miss a penalty, we were denied another penalty which was clear cut and we hit the bar.

"We were 2-1 down after 84 minutes in searing heat but we came back with a performance, attitude and drive at the very end.

"We've had a saying this week - 'We're not here to lose because we are the super Blues'.

"I am just delighted and very proud of my players."
