Glenavon stormed from behind to beat Limavady and avoid the dreaded Irish League relegation play-off. Glenavon fell behind to a 77th-minute goal from 17-year-old debutant Tony Clyde and at that stage looked set for the play-off with Donegal Celtic.
But seconds later a pull-back from Glenavon's Aidan McVeigh was diverted in by Martin Ferry for an own goal.
Glenavon striker Marty Verner then sealed the win, following up to score after McVeigh's shot hit a post.
It was only Glenavon's second league win at home for the season.
"Marty is one of those guys who can score goals from nowhere," said relieved Glenavon boss Jimmy Brown.
"I am confident he will be with us for next season and hope to sort out his contract soon.
"We want to strengthen the panel because I do not want to go through this again.
"I am delighted for the players, and the directors but, most of all, for the supporters because they have really backed us over the last five or six weeks."
