 Paddy McLaughlin headed Institute into the lead |
Institute survived a late scare to move nine points ahead of Ards in the relegation zone of the Premier League. Former Derry City player Paddy McLaughlin scored for the second week running with a powerful header on 20 minutes to give Institute the lead.
Ten minutes into the second half Gareth Sproule made it 2-0 after a breakaway.
Mick Moran scored for Ards in the 90th minute and then Robert Knox had a chance to level but headed straight at keeper John Connolly after a corner.
