Distillery striker Darren Armour broke the deadlock at Drumahoe |
The Whites cruised to a Nationwide Irish Cup fifth round victory at Drumahoe on Saturday. Darren Armour turned and fired past keeper John Connelly to put Distillery ahead in the 12th minute.
Ryan Catney drilled home on 29 minutes to double the lead before Institute skipper Tommy McCallion was sent-off for an elbowing offence on 66 minutes.
Paddy McLaughlin's 71st minute header gave Institute hope but a John Martin volley six minutes later made it 3-1.
The visitors dominated the first half but Institute fought back after the break and were proving a threat until McCallion's dismissal.
Gareth Mullan shot over before McCallion saw his effort easily saved by Philip Matthews.
