Ferguson achieves awards record
Glenn Ferguson
Linfield's Glenn Ferguson scored 11 goals during December
Linfield's Glenn Ferguson has won the Harp NI Football Writers' player of the month award for a record seventh time.

The 36-year-old striker first won the award in 1993 while with Glenavon.

Ferguson scored 11 goals in Linfield's six matches during December as the Blues won the CIS Cup and stretched their lead in the league to 13 points.

"I would not be scoring so many goals if I was in a poor team. The current Linfield side is exceptional," said the former Northern Ireland international.

Ferguson is just one short of 450 career goals.
