Paul Gaston will be playing 16 seasons with Coleraine |
Paul Gaston is ready to serve his 16th season with Coleraine when he signed a new two-year deal on Tuesday night. Boss Marty Quinn convinced 30-year-old Gaston and fellow defender Kyle McVey to stay on at Coleraine while Stuart Clanachan is also set to follow suit.
"Paul and Kyle have both agreed two-year deals and Stuart is almost certain to do likewise," said Quinn.
"I'm delighted to have them back on board and Paul will take over as skipper."
With Pat McAllister, along with Gerry Flynn, likely to be heading to Newry City, it was obvious that Quinn would reward loyalty by giving Gaston the captaincy.
Quinn is due meet with other squad members later to discuss their futures at the Showgrounds.
So far, Jody Tolan, Sean Armstrong and Gary Haveron have all moved on since the end of the season in the midst of Coleraine's financial problems.
