Mark McGuinness and Austin Friel struck in the second half to give United all three Carnegie Premier League points at the Showgrounds on Monday. Liam Cooley made a double block to deny the homeside before keeper Davy O'Hare kept out a Friel shot.
McGuinness put Limavady ahead on 51 minutes with a right-foot finish before Cooley came to his team's rescue again with another vital clearance.
Friel sealed the victory with a 22-yard free-kick after 77 minutes.
The win lifts Paul Kee's side into the top half of the table while Coleraine slip one place to 11th.
