Glenavon's Aiden McVeigh (right) opens the scoring at Ballymena |
Glenavon's fine away form continued when they held on to beat Ballymena United despite having goalkeeper Andy McDonald sent-off 10 minutes from time. Aiden McVeigh put Jimmy Brown's men into a ninth minute lead, pouncing on a weak header back from Gary Smyth.
But United equalised within three minutes with a Vincent Sweeney penalty.
Kevin Kelbie had United ahead at half-time but Marty Verner (55 mins) and another from McVeigh (73) sealed the success for the visitors.
Four of Glenavon's five wins in the league have come away from home.
Keeper McDonald was red-carded 11 minutes from the end for handling outside the penalty area and striker Shea Campbell went into goal.
