Whites boss Paul Kirk plans a clearout after a poor run of results |
Lisburn Distillery will release defender Gareth McKeown next month as part of a planned clearout by New Grosvenor manager Paul Kirk. The 22-year-old former Derby County trainee was sent-off in the 3-1 defeat away to Larne last Friday.
The Whites have slipped to 11th in the Carnegie Premier League table and Kirk has described his mood as "black".
"We have reached a new low. Players not doing a job for me and Distillery must leave," Kirk told the News Letter.
He added: "There have to be changes - I will attempt to bring in players who will display the same fervour and determination to succeed as I do for the club.
"Obviously, we have been handicapped by injuries and suspensions.
"Centre-back Paul Muir remains out, very slow to overcome an ankle injury.
"I have had a chat with back-up goalkeeper Michael Dougherty and will try to find him an on-loan placement to get matches. Philip Matthews holds the jersey at the moment.
McKeown, striker Darren Armour and midfielder Ryan McCann will miss Saturday's league game at home against Institute because of suspension.
Kirk brings two 17-year-olds into his panel - full-back Simon West and winger Kyle McQuillan.
Institute pair Tommy McCallion and Ruairi Boyle return after serving bans.
