Ballymena United 1-2 Dungannon
Gary Bownes
Gary Bownes celebrates the winner at Ballymena Showgrounds
Ballymena United lost their unbeaten home record in this season's Irish Premier League as Dungannon's Gary Bownes struck a second half winner.

It sent the Swifts into the top half of the table with Ballymena slipping below them to ninth.

Ballymena had gone in front when Rory Hamill fired in on 11 minutes from a free-kick move.

But Gary Fitzpatrick headed in a 40th minute equaliser before Davy Scullion set up Bownes for the deciding strike.

So joy for Dungannon boss Joe McAree who had been sent from the dug-out by referee Adrian McCourt for arguing 10 minutes before half-time.

At that stage, the Swifts were losing to Hamill's strike which came from a short Jamie Marks free after keeper Stuart Addis had been punished for picking up J P Gallagher's backpass.

Fitzpatrick's leveller was a six-yard header from a Scott Walker free-kick.

Bownes, a summer signing from Ballinamallard, grabbed the decider on 54 minutes, stroking home after a great pass from the impressive Scullion.
