Bertrand Ketchancke grabbed an equaliser for Institute with just five minutes left in the CIS Cup Group One game at the Showgrounds. Coleraine enjoy greater possession in the first half but Institute had the better openings with Darren Cassidy blazing over on 24 minutes.
Former Institute player Paul McLaughlin put the Bannsiders ahead on 79 minutes with a finish at the second attempt.
But defender Ketchance fired home six minutes later to make it level.
