Michael Halliday scored Glentoran's winner against Cliftonville |
Glentoran regained third place in the Irish Premier League thanks to Michael Halliday's 75th minute winner against Cliftonville at Solitude. Halliday raced through to produce a superb finish which made it three league wins in a row for the Glens.
Cliftonville have now lost three of their last four in the championship and will be unhappy with their display.
The Reds had a few half chances in the first period but lacked punch up front after the break.
Solitude is traditionally a tough venue for Glentoran and it was looking like they might have to settle for a draw until Halliday pounced.
Colin Nixon's long ball was flicked on by Damien McLaughlin and Halliday took it on to score superb goal, his 10th of the season.
