Derry City's 0-0 home Eircom League draw against Bohemians was overshadowed by news that the Brandywell club are to trim their playing staff. Davy Byrne has been placed on the transfer list and it is understood that several other unnamed players are also set to be let go by the club.
The Brandywell outfit are taking the moves in an attempt to cut costs.
Bohemians ended Thursday's game with ten men after the second half dismissal of Ken Oman for two yellow cards.
The first half was uneventful with neither side creating clearcut chances.
On 51 minutes Kevin Hunt shot over the bar from the penalty spot after Clive Delaney was adjudged to have brought down Glenn Crowe inside the area.
Late in the game Crowe met a cross from Fergal Harkin but his header fell straight into the goalkeeper's arms.
