Derry City are hoping to bring Carlisle United defender Darren Kelly back to the club. Northern Ireland U21 international Kelly moved from the Brandywell to the English club 15 months ago.
However, Carlisle are currently bottom of the English third division and look set to be relegated to the Conference.
Kelly, who is also attacting interest from Eircom League champions Shelbourne, is one of several Carlisle players who have been transfer-listed.
Last week, Derry City boss Gavin Dykes signed Kildare County defender Damien Brennan and Sligo Rovers goalkeeper Ciaran Kelly.
In addition, Dykes has retained the services of Robbie Hedderman while Ciaran Martyn is expected to remain at the club.
Dykes, himself, has been given a two-year contract.
Eamon Doherty (two years), Peter Hutton (three years) and Mark Farren (two years) have signed contract extensions with the club.
It is not yet clear whether Liam Coyle will be at the Brandywell next season.
Coyle had indicated that he would quit at the end of the campaign just ended but he may be asked to have a rethink.
Finn Harps, meanwhile, have signed St Patrick's Athletic goalkeeper James Gallagher.
Donegal-native Gallagher, has spent the last two seasons at St Pat's and previously was on Celtic's books.
