Derry City slumped to their fourth successive defeat as they failed to kick-start their Eircom League campaign at Inchicore on Friday night.
Although they took the lead through a JP McBride penalty, three goals in a 18-minute period saw the Candystripes licking their wounds.
Another late strike by Jimmy Lee Jones just added to Derry's miserable start to the new summer domestic season.
Stuck pointless at the bottom of the table pressure must now be mounting on manager Kevin Mahon turn around the fortunes of Derry who just avoided relegation last season.
Everything looked rosy for Mahon's side when McBride stuck away the opening goal from the spot in the 25th minute.
However, once St Patrick's grabbed the equaliser through Paul Osam on the stroke of half-time, Derry seemed to fall apart.
St Patrick's crew in confidence and Barry Prenderville gave them the lead in the 56th minute with Mbabazi Livingstone increasing the gap six minutes later.
Jones then ended Derry's torture in the 78th minute with the fourth goal.
