Derry City boss Kevin Mahon saw his side fall at home to Drogheda |
Derry City 0-1 Drogheda United
Derry City fell to their third consecutive Eircom League defeat when they lost at home to Drogheda United on Tuesday night.
Mark Quinless scored the only goal of the Brandywell match after just six minutes.
It proved enough to give Drogheda their first win of the season.
Before kick-off they had been just above Derry with one point from their opening two games.
They move up the Premier Division table with four points.
But for Derry boss Kevin Mahon an early-season crisis seems to be looming with little penetration up front.
Mahon has seen his attack fail to score in the last two games.
The Candystripes lost their opening fixture in the new summer season 3-2 at home to Longford Town.
Then they went down 1-0 away to last season's Premier Division runners-up Shelbourne.
