Coleraine 2-2 Glentoran
Coleraine hit two late goals to claim an unlikely 2-2 draw against champions Glentoran in Saturday's dress-rehearsal for the Nationwide Irish Cup final on 3 May.
Goals from Kevin Keegan and Gary Smyth seemed set to have earned Glentoran victory in a lacklustre contest.
Even when Ian McCoosh pulled a goal back for Coleraine against the run of play 10 minutes from time, it seemed inconceivable that Glentoran could go away with anything other than three points.
However right at the death, Jody Tolan levelled for Coleraine after good work by former Glentoran man Rory Hamill.
The first half was eminently forgettable although things did liven up in the moments before the break.
Firstly Andy Smith was convinced that he had put the Glens ahead but Alan Snoddy, aided by a linesman, adjuged that the striker's effort had not crossed the goal-line.
However, Glentoran did take the lead seconds late with Kevin Keegan nipping in to plant the ball past Davy O'Hare after a woeful defensive header by Stuart Clanachan.
Gary Smyth's floated 65th minute free-kick extended Glentoran's advantage with the strike having little pace but still enough to beat O'Hare.
At that stage, Glentoran seemed certain to gain a psychological advantage going into the cup final but Coleraine kept battling to earn an unlikely point.
