Omagh Town 4-1 Institute

Omagh Town claimed a comfortable victory over Institute in Friday's Daily Mirror Irish League game at St Julian's Road.

Goals from Michael Kerr (4), Marty McCann (38) and Ivan Sproule (40) put Roy McCreadie's side 3-0 ahead at half-time.

McCann added a fourth goal for Omagh in the 70th minute.

Former Derry City man Paul McLaughlin pulled a goal back for Institute in the 86th minute.

The victory means Omagh look certain to finish no lower than fifth in the league table.

Roy McCreadie's side are now nine points ahead of the sixth-placed Londonderry club.

James Quigley played his final league game of the season for Omagh.

The tough-tackling midfield man has been handed a four-match suspension which starts on Monday and covers the rest of the Irish League campaign.

Gary Smyth could miss Saturday's game against Coleraine because of a hamstring injury
Gary Smyth: Glentoran doubt

Quigley received the ban for being booked 10 times during the season which meant he reached 40 disciplinary penalty points.

His Omagh team-mate, Marty McCann, will be suspended for two games from Monday.

That means Roy McCreadie's side will be without two key midfielders for Tuesday's Premier Division meeting at home to Coleraine.

Meanwhile, league champions Glentoran have injury doubts over Gary Smyth and Darren Armour for Saturday's league game against Coleraine at Ballycastle Road.

Smyth, who along with Darren Lockhart will be suspended for Tuesday's league game against Portadown because of one-match bans, has a hamstring problem while Armour has knee trouble.

Marty Hunter returns to the Glentoran squad for the first time in two months after overcoming a knee injury.

Glentoran captain Chris Walker, meanwhile, is still holding out hope of being involved in the Nationwide Irish Cup final against Coleraine on 3 May.

Murphy returns

Walker is hoping to see some action for Glentoran seconds on Saturday.

The centre-back was reckoned to be out for the rest of the season after breaking a foot in training last month but he is making a tremendous recovery.

Meanwhile, Darren Murphy is back in the Linfield squad for Saturday's league game against Portadown at Shamrock Park.

Murphy missed the win over Omagh because of work commitments.

Russell Kelly is doubtful because of a knee injury but Pat Wall returns to the squad after recovering from a similar problem.
