Mark Glendinning scored for Glentoran against Coleraine |
Glentoran are just one win away from the Irish League Premier Division title after Saturday's 1-0 success over Coleraine.
Second-placed Portadown's defeat away to Institute means Roy Coyle's side are 13 points clear with 15 left to play for.
They can wrap up the championship in their next match on 12 April.
Before that they face the Ports in the semi-finals of the Nationwide Irish Cup - the biggest hurdle in their way to a clean sweep of all four trophies.
Mark Glendinning got the 18th minute winner for Glentoran who have been beaten just three times in local football this season.
Portadown's hopes of getting back into contention in the league race disappeared when they fell to a second half goal from Stephen Parkhouse at Drumahoe.
At the other end of the table bottom-placed Newry Town celebrated a rare victory.
Ollie Ralph's strugglers came away from Seaview with a 2-0 success over Crusaders.
Robert Casey blasted in a penalty and John Joe Maguire got the second but Newry are still eight points adrift of one-from-bottom Glenavon.
Linfield have not given up on catching third-placed Coleraine after their 2-1 win away to Lisburn Distillery.
The Blues went behind to an Andrew Dickson effort but then Glenn Ferguson, who had earlier missed a penalty, levelled with a precise header.
Russell Kelly scored with a follow-up header for his first goal of the season to give Linfield a victory which leaves them seven points behind Coleraine with five matches remaining.
