Eriksson has been linked again with Chelsea |
England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson has refused to be drawn on renewed speculation linking him with Chelsea. Eriksson was quizzed in Istanbul about claims that he had signed a pre-contract agreement giving Chelsea the first option to talk to him if he quits England.
He was asked to set the record straight about constant claims he will move to Stamford Bridge, then questioned about whether he would fulfil his contract until 2006.
Eriksson refused to confirm that he would see out his contract and said: "If you take the position I had one week ago nothing has changed from that.
"I think we should not talk about that one day before the game against Turkey."
Eriksson's latest Chelsea link was revealed in the Swedish newspaper "Afton Bladet".
But Eriksson's representative Athole Still insisted no talks with anyone representing the Blues have ever taken place.
"I am Sven's exclusive manager and I have never, at any time, spoken to or negotiated with anybody either from Chelsea or representing Chelsea - so there is no pre-contract agreement," said Still.
Eriksson has been linked with Chelsea since he was pictured making a secret visit to owner Roman Abramovich's London flat shortly after he took over at Stamford Bridge.
