It's a very proud moment and a dream come true for any player to get an England call-up.

I always said that I wouldn't know how I would react when I heard the news.

You have to look at it like winning the lottery.

You always have the thought in the back of your mind that if you perform well enough Mr Eriksson will take some notice

If your numbers are read out on the screen, you don't how you would react until it happens.

I don't think it's really sunk in yet.

Now I'm involved in the squad, I can hopefully be involved in the game at some stage on Wednesday.

I'm aiming to put forward a good account of myself and make a few more squads.

I never assumed I would be picked, even though I've scored goals regularly this season.

Of course, you always have the thought in the back of your mind that if you perform well enough Mr Eriksson will take notice and put you in at some time.

I have always kept my feet on the ground, and kept working all the way through

I don't know when I'm meeting up with the squad - I haven't had the call yet!

But I've spoken to Wayne Bridge and he tells me it will either be Sunday night or Monday morning.

It will be strange meeting up with the likes of David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Rio Ferdinand.

I play against these guys regularly in the Premiership but I don't how it will feel to be training with them - and potentially be in the same team with them.

I have always kept my feet on the ground, and kept working all the way through.

My mum and dad said they were very proud of me.

My dad said to go and play the best I can and that's all I can do.
