Scotland manager George Burley has pointed to the improvement in striker Derek Riordan's all-round game as the reason he included him in his squad.
The Hibernian forward has been playing well under new Easter Road boss John Hughes and was voted Clydesdale Bank player of the month for September.
"Derek's been on form this season," said Burley of the 26-year-old.
"He has ability, but he has to do more than just score. This season I've seen an improvement in his all-round play."
Riordan is in his second period at the club, having had an unproductive spell at Celtic under Gordon Strachan.
This season, he has scored five goals to date, though he has missed two penalties.
Burley, at Easter Road on Saturday to watch Riordan in action, told BBC Scotland: "Derek has the ability to be a good finisher.
"This season, he has really knuckled down and hopefully he will continue along the same lines."
However, Burley warned: "He's capable of scoring goals in the SPL, but there are other parts of his game that he needs to improve."
