The Republic of Ireland will take on Nigeria in a friendly at Craven Cottage in London on Friday 29 May.
Nigeria are currently 23rd in the Fifa world rankings - six places above Giovanni Trapattoni's Republic side.
The Irish will use the game to prepare for the World Cup qualifier against Bulgaria on 6 June.
The Super Eagles are currently ranked second in Africa and their squad includes John Obi Mikel, Obafemi Martins, and Fulham's Dickson Etuhu.
The Republic of Ireland are currently joint top of Group 8 with World Cup holders Italy.
