Coyne says he had no doubts that he would return |
Wales and Burnley keeper Danny Coyne says he is ready for the Euro 2008 qualifiers despite 12 months out. The 32-year-old had established himself as John Toshack's first choice before a knee cruciate ligament in September.
But he has been recalled for the 15 August friendly with Bulgaria and is targeting the first Euro qualifier with the Czech Republic on 2 September.
"I'm in full training and I just need a couple of weeks and a couple of games to get back to my best," said Coyne.
"I've been out for a long time and it's always frustrating to be injured, but I've had a lot of good people behind me.

"The club, the physios and my family have all been fantastic.
"I've always known that I'd get back. The operation is routine now, it's not a career-threatening injury like it was 10 years ago."
The Prestatyn man says there is a real belief in the Wales camp that they can make an impact in Euro 2008 qualifying Group D alongside the Republic of Ireland, the Czech Republic, Germany, Slovakia, Cyprus and San Marino.
"We want to get the campaign off to a good start, all the lads are up for it and feeling very confident," Coyne told BBC Sport Wales.
"John Toshack's been building a squad with a great team spirit, the lads all know each other well and that can take you a long way.
"I'm just looking forward to meeting up with the boys after so long away and will take things as they come.
"There's a lot of competition for the number one jersey with Jason Brown, Paul Jones and Lewis Price, I'm happy to be back in the squad."
