Eriksson said he will play no part in choosing his successor |
England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson has told the Football Association he does not want his successor to shadow him during the World Cup finals. Eriksson will leave following Germany 2006 and it has been suggested his replacement could get to know the players by joining up with the squad.
But Eriksson told The Sun: "I don't want to go into the World Cup with two national coaches.
"This might be my last World Cup and I want it to be done my way."
Eriksson also confirmed he will play no part in selecting the next England boss.
"I've told the FA it is totally up to them to find my replacement.
"The last thing I want is to be accused of helping them find someone who might not be up to the job."
