Brian Kerr has applied to be the new South Africa manager |
The agent of former Republic of Ireland manager Brian Kerr has denied that he is set to take charge of the South African national team. Fintan Drury was responding to a report in the Irish Independent that Kerr was ready to take over the hotseat.
While Kerr has applied for the job and held talks with the South African FA, no permanent manager will be appointed until the African Nations Cup is over.
Romanian Ted Dumitru is in charge of the team on an interim basis.
He will lead the team during the Nations Cup, but is unlikely to be given a full time role.
